Jangmi Paik

Jangmi Paik is a multidisciplinary graphic designer and printmaker with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University. Rooted in her experience as a Korean American artist, her work explores memory, cultural identity, and place—reflecting a dialogue between past and present, tradition and technology.

Her practice bridges analog and digital methods, combining risograph, screen printing, etching, and letterpress with contemporary design tools. With a foundation in both commercial design and fine art processes, she brings a material-driven, intuitive approach to visual storytelling. Each project becomes a way to explore how form, color, and texture can hold memory, evoke emotion, and communicate lived experience.

Working across zines, prints, video, and installation, she often draws inspiration from childhood imagination, sensory play, and visual metaphors of distortion and reflection. Whether crafting playful ephemera or participatory projects, her work invites reflection—both personal and collective.
