Video works that explore memory, identity, and the imagination—often drawing from childhood, dreams, and internal landscapes. These pieces use layering, voiceover, and experimental visuals to capture feeling as form and introspection as motion.
Bubbleaid
About the Project
Bubbleaid began with the concept of indoor and outdoor gestures but evolved into something more personal and restorative. At the end of a long academic year—feeling drained and in need of creative refreshment—I reimagined the project as a fictional recipe video: a playful tonic called “bubbleade,” designed to aid artistic energy and imagination.
Drawing inspiration from my own childhood memories, I invited my younger sister to perform in the film, embodying the spirit of childhood creativity that often informs my work. The video builds on ideas explored in earlier sound and portrait projects, especially the metaphor of bubbles—as both the action of art-making and a symbol of creative spark.
The video’s script unfolds like an absurd recipe: whimsical, poetic, and strange. I filmed the performance from multiple angles and layered in bright, saturated colors, voice-over recordings, and textures from previous works. Visual elements like “loading bubbles” and layered overlays were added to represent inner imagination and shifting perception.
The transition at the beginning—starting with the trees—mirrors the shift in how I experience the world once the creative process begins. As the “bubbleade” is made, reality softens, imagination expands, and the tone of the piece shifts into something dreamlike, humorous, and emotionally true.
