About the Project
This boarding pass design is part of an ongoing exploration of immigration and identity. Inspired by personal experiences navigating between Korea and the U.S., the piece reimagines a travel document as a poetic symbol of cultural duality and displacement.
A mirrored cityscape—composited from found imagery—and a palette of dusk tones evoke the blur of departure and arrival. Digitally hand-drawn Hangul characters scatter across the piece, echoing linguistic fragmentation. The QR code and directional arrows reference systems of control and movement, grounding the emotional weight of migration in graphic precision.
