Process-based works grounded in risograph, screenprint, etching, lithograph, and letterpress. Printmaking here becomes more than reproduction—it’s a method of storytelling, of building physical traces and temporal layers, often informed by nostalgia, language, and texture.
Merry and the Witch’s Flower
About the Project
Originally created as an album concept for Baek Yerin’s Merry and the Witch’s Flower, this piece visualizes a dreamlike journey: a witch on a night flight to find a flower for her lover—one she imagines floating in their tea.
The visual began as a digital collage built from my own rose photography, layered with sourced imagery of skies, bubbles, and a soaring witch. The handwritten title, 야간비행 (Night Flight), was drawn in Procreate to mirror the song’s soft, personal tone.
The image was then reinterpreted through a CMYK screenprinting process. Each of the four color layers—cyan, magenta, yellow, and black—was printed by hand, introducing slight misregistrations and texture shifts. These imperfections bring the piece to life, echoing the warmth and fragility of memory.
Presented as a looping sequence of three prints, the work mimics the flicker of a VHS frame or a dream in motion—unstable, intimate, and filled with atmospheric light. It feels both tactile and cinematic, like a fading spell captured in print.
