Nostalgia City
About the Project
Nostalgia City is a risograph poster project from the Nostalgia Series, designed to transform personal memory into a shared space for reflection. Printed in blue ink on white paper, the design reinterprets imagery from my reductive screenprint Nostalgia—translating it into a star-strewn sky—where each mark feels like a fading trace, inspired by the deep blue of cyanotypes and the way CMYK prints erode under time and UV light.
This piece serves as both artwork and invitation. Along the bottom edge, tear-off tabs feature unique star symbols and QR codes that lead to an interview form, inviting participants to share stories of their own childhood nostalgia. Each tab becomes a small, poetic prompt—part visual motif, part interactive gesture. The act of tearing, scanning, and contributing becomes a quiet ritual of connection, turning passive viewing into an intimate gesture of remembrance.
As a tool for community gathering and memory collection, nostalgia.city blends printmaking, graphic design, and social practice. It seeks to build an archive of shared histories—where the night sky becomes a memory map, and each star holds someone’s past.
The accompanying Instagram handle, @nostalgia_09, offers an open channel for dialogue, responses, and shared memories. While the website nostalgia.city is currently under construction, this ongoing archive grows through quiet moments of participation—one memory, one story, one shared star at a time.
