Process-based works grounded in risograph, screenprint, etching, lithograph, and letterpress. Printmaking here becomes more than reproduction—it’s a method of storytelling, of building physical traces and temporal layers, often informed by nostalgia, language, and texture.

Plants

About the Project

Plants is a collaborative letterpress piece created by a class of nine, combining botanical forms, experimental typography, and laser-etched wooden stencils. Each student contributed two to three square tile designs—ranging from abstracted foliage to expressive type—curated and arranged into a vibrant modular grid.

The project explores collective authorship and the possibilities of texture, pattern, and form through shared constraints and open experimentation. The final composition reveals a playful rhythm between organic and geometric, analog and digital.

In addition to designing my tiles, I collaborated with two classmates to mix the yellow and green inks—carefully balancing opacity and layering to produce vivid, high-contrast prints with subtle tonal depth. The result is a lively, tactile celebration of process: the feel of ink, wood, and pressure made visible through collaboration.

Plants honors the materiality of letterpress and the spirit of collective making—where individual voices converge through shared structure and improvisation.
